What is Ferrule?
Ferrule is commonly used as a component of conduit fitting assembly. Therefore you can find different material of them, from steel ferrule, graphite ferrule, to metal ferrule. Many of conduit connector manufacturer will provide metals one.
Many people started to use metal flexible conduit fitting ferrule since it is stable whether it is placed in various temperature range. However some expertises do some research and found some factors of the designs.
Most of conduit fitting contains a single steel ferrule, since it will minimize the total number of components and tend to work reliably than other materials. The ferrule couldn’t rotate, since it will cause a permanent leaks.
Some of flexible conduit supplier provide an asymmetrical and symmetrical designs. Both versions are suitable to seal the tubing, but with different purposes.
An asymmetrical can only be connect to conduit fitting body in one direction, while the symmetrical ferrule can be placed in either directions.
